Junior Forestry Technician

Overview

  • Perform field surveys and assessments to evaluate forest conditions, infrastructure needs, and environmental impact.

  • Support senior engineers and forestry managers in developing sustainable forest management practices.

  • Collect, analyze, and report data on forest health, soil conditions, and hydrological factors that affect forest management.

  • Utilize GIS and other technical software to assist in planning and designing forestry projects.

  • Continuously develop technical knowledge through mentorship, training, and hands-on project experience.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 1 year experience conducting fieldwork such as conventional and helicopter cut block layout, planting, brushing and other various tasks that may arise in the field.

  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines​

  • Some experience with ArcGIS, and other mapping programs an asset!

  • Preference will be given to applicants with Post-secondary Certification or Diplomas in Forestry or a related field​

  • Physically fit and capable of working in coastal terrain

  • Willing to work 10/4 shifts in remote areas with meals and lodging provided

  • Enjoy learning and challenging themselves

  • Hold a valid class 5 Driver's License 

  • Hold a valid First Aid with transport endorsement (preferred)

  • Embrace safety and lead by example

  • Believe in the benefits of land stewardship

$23-$31 Per Hour
