Junior Forestry Technician

Overview
-
Perform field surveys and assessments to evaluate forest conditions, infrastructure needs, and environmental impact.

Support senior engineers and forestry managers in developing sustainable forest management practices.

Collect, analyze, and report data on forest health, soil conditions, and hydrological factors that affect forest management.

Utilize GIS and other technical software to assist in planning and designing forestry projects.
-
Continuously develop technical knowledge through mentorship, training, and hands-on project experience.

Qualifications
-
Minimum 1 year experience conducting fieldwork such as conventional and helicopter cut block layout, planting, brushing and other various tasks that may arise in the field.

Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines​

Some experience with ArcGIS, and other mapping programs an asset!

Preference will be given to applicants with Post-secondary Certification or Diplomas in Forestry or a related field​

Physically fit and capable of working in coastal terrain

Willing to work 10/4 shifts in remote areas with meals and lodging provided

Enjoy learning and challenging themselves

Hold a valid class 5 Driver's License

Hold a valid First Aid with transport endorsement (preferred)
