Forestry GIS Tech / Operational Mapper

Forbidden Timber Ltd. is currently looking for an Operational Mapper to join our team. This opportunity offers flexibility to work from home and our Comox office. Our ideal candidate:
Has completed an accredited post-secondary forestry or GIS program
Possesses a minimum of 2- 5 years of Coastal Forest experience
Proficient in using Forestry software
mapping/GIS software (ArcGIS)
Road Eng
Enfor
Experience with FTA and RESULTS submissions (preferred)
Is eligible for registration, or currently registered, with the ABCFP
Ability to work remotely and attend in-person meetings in the Comox Valley/ Campbell River areas
Experience with Microsoft 365
Great communication skills are an asset!

Intermediate and Junior Engineers

Forbidden Timber Ltd. is looking to add intermediate and junior-level engineers to our growing team! Under the direction of our Senior Engineers and the Operations Manager (a total of 40+ years of coastal forestry knowledge and experience), our Junior and Intermediate Engineers will receive training, guidance, and support to advance in the field. With opportunities such as additional training and certifications, professional training, and development as needed to stay up to date with the latest forestry practices and knowledge. Our ideal candidates:
Intermediate Engineer:
Possess a minimum of 2 years of Coastal Forest experience
Are proficient in using forestry software, such as:
mapping/GIS software (ArcGIS)
Road Eng
Enfor
Have completed an accredited post-secondary forestry program
Are eligible for registration with the ABCFP
Have interest in advancement within the field
Junior Engineer:
6 months of general forestry experience OR forestry certification OR a combination of the two
Keen interest in learning about all phases of forest operations
All Applicants for Intermediate/Junior Engineers:
Physically fit and capable of working in coastal terrain
Are willing to work shifts in remote areas (camp/lodging provided)
Enjoy learning and challenging themselves
Must be organized, have good communication skills, and be able to work under minimal supervision
Hold a valid class 5 Driver's License and clean abstract
Hold a valid OHS Level 1 with transport endorsement (preferred)
