 Forestry Technicians and Professionals

Forbidden Timber Ltd. is looking to add  to our growing team! Currently, our work areas are located in various areas around the coast, such as Prince Rupert, Mainland Coast / Sunshine Coast, and Howe Sound / Pemberton Valley and Vancouver Island.  

 

Planning Forester ($90, 000 - $110, 000)

  •  RPF under the FPBC

  •  At least 5 years of previous experience in related work (Preference given to those with BC Coastal Forestry experience)

  •  Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines

  •  Experience in writing site plans, collaborating on land use plans and forest landscape or stewardship plans

  •  Working knowledge of silviculture software

  •  Ability to create and manage budgets and proformas

  • This position offers a flexible work-environment

Intermediate /Timber Cruiser/ Senior Forestry Technician ($31-38/hr, depending on experience, education and ability)

  • Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of Coastal Forest experience

  • Have experience using forestry software, such as:

    • mapping/GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.,)

    • Road Eng

    • Enfor

  • Are eligible for registration with the Forest Professionals of BC as a FIT or TFT, ASFIT, ASTFT

  • Possess an interest in advancement in all aspects

 

Junior Technician ( $27-32/hr, depending on experience, education, and ability)

  • 1 year of general forestry experience OR diploma from a recognized forestry certification program OR a combination of the two

  • Keen interest in learning about all phases of forestry operations

 

All Applicants:

 

  • Physically fit and capable of working in coastal terrain

  • Willing to work shifts in remote areas with camp/lodging provided

  • Enjoy learning and challenging themselves

  • Must be organized

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Hold a valid class 5 Driver's License and a clean abstract with no restrictions that would impact the ability to do the job as required

  • Hold a valid OHS Level 1 with transport endorsement (preferred)

  • Embrace safety and lead by example

  • Believe in the benefits of land stewardship
