Junior and Intermediate Forestry Technician

Overview

  • Perform field surveys and assessments to evaluate forest conditions, infrastructure needs, and environmental impact.

  • Support senior engineers and forestry managers in developing sustainable forest management practices.

  • Collect, analyze, and report data on forest health, soil conditions, and hydrological factors that affect forest management.

  • Utilize GIS and other technical software to assist in planning and designing forestry projects.

  • Continuously develop technical knowledge through mentorship, training, and hands-on project experience.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 1 year experience conducting fieldwork such as conventional and helicopter cut block layout, resource assessments, and silviculture surveying.

  • Some experience with ArcGIS, and other mapping programs an asset

  • Preference will be given to applicants with Post-secondary Certification or Diplomas in Forestry or a related field

  • Physically fit and capable of working in coastal terrain

  • Willing to work in remote areas with transportation, meals, and lodging provided

  • Enjoy learning and challenging themselves

  • Hold a valid class 5 Driver's License 

  • Hold a valid First Aid with transport endorsement (preferred)

  • Embrace safety and lead by example

  • Believe in the benefits of land stewardship

$25-$31 Per Hour
