Field Supervisors
and Timber Cruisers

Overview
-
Based out of our Comox or Nanaimo locations
-
Lead and oversee forestry engineering projects, including road construction, erosion control, and harvest planning.

Develop and implement innovative forestry planning strategies to improve sustainability within forest management area.

Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior technicians, foresters, and other team members.

Ensure compliance with regulations related to forest engineering, timber harvesting, and land conservation.

Prepare reports, project plans, budgets and proformas, and environmental impact assessments.

Engage with stakeholders to ensure socioeconomic impacts are managed across the land base.

Qualifications
-
Registered, or ability to be registered, with the FPBC as an RFT or ATC.

At least 5 years of previous experience in related work (Preference given to those with BC Coastal Forestry experience)

Experience with conducting fieldwork such as conventional and helicopter cut block layout and Timber Cruising.

Experience with QGIS, RoadEng, Enfor (CruiseMate, CompMate for Cruiser)

Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team​

Physically fit and capable of working in coastal terrain

Flexible work schedule with a mix of field and office work

Willing to work in remote areas

Enjoy learning and challenging themselves

Must be organized

Excellent communication skills

Hold a valid class 5 Driver's License

Hold a valid Basic First Aid with transport endorsement (preferred)
