Project Manager / Forestry Field Supervisor

As a Project Manager / Forestry Technician Field Supervisor, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations in the field. This will include scheduling, supply management, and logistical requirements. You will lead a team of forestry technicians and work together with contractors to ensure project milestones are achieved on time, within budget, and according to environmental guidelines.

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of forestry projects. Ensure projects are delivered within scope, on time, and within budget.

  • Lead and manage teams in conducting fieldwork such as conventional and helicopter cut block layout, planting, brushing and other various tasks that may arise in the field.

  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to field staff. Promote safety, teamwork, and quality in all field operations.

  • Communicate with supervisors and stakeholders to provide updates, manage expectations, and ensure project satisfaction.

  • Ensure all work complies with Safe Work Procedures, Regulations and environmental protection laws and policies as required. Promote a safety-first culture across all field operations.

  • Oversee data collection for fieldwork and complete reports as required. Must complete all block packaging and field mapping, or be able to delegate to proper team members.

  • Coordinate the allocation of resources (personnel, equipment, materials) and ensure efficiency and productivity in field operations.

Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to applicants with:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

    • 5 years of experience in forestry or natural resource management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Proven experience in managing forestry projects, including project planning, execution, and reporting.

  • Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, RoadEng, Enfor.

  • Strong knowledge of forest management practices, regulations, and environmental standards.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and direct staff.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.

  • First aid and CPR certification is an asset.

  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation - 
$95,000-110,000 Annually
