​Forbidden Timber Ltd is seeking an experienced and performance-driven Quality Control Supervisor to lead coastal log quality operations across active operations and downstream scale sites. This leadership role is responsible for maximizing fibre value, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening production outcomes in demanding coastal environments.

We are looking for a strong field leader with deep knowledge of coastal species, grading precision, and coastal forestry operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead log quality inspections in compliance with BC Coastal Log Grading Rules and provincial standards established by the Ministry of Forests

  • Drive value recovery through strategic oversight of bucking and processing of  Douglas-fir, Western Red Cedar, Hemlock, and Balsam

  • Travel to worksites to oversee species sorting, bucking, grade accuracy, and sort yard compliance 

  • Provide real-time field leadership and mentorship to fallers, heli riggers, operators, scalers, and contractors to improve quality and production performance

  • Ensure compliance with cutting permits, waste surveys, residue management, and stump-to-dump accountability requirements

  • Monitor operational metrics and implement corrective action plans to reduce fibre loss

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in steep-slope, remote, and heli-access environments

What you bring 

  • Proven experience in coastal forestry quality control or supervisory roles

  • Strong working knowledge of BC Coastal Log Grading and Scaling Rules and Regulations

  • Demonstrated ability to improve value recovery and minimize downgrade

  • Experience working with processors, scale sites, and mill specifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence

Compensation & Benefits

  • $115,000 – $140,000 annually, based on experience
